Below, the Netball Section Leader shares the club’s story in their own words.
Great Netball. Great Friendships. One Amazing Club!
Our story began back in 1966 as Hartshill Sports Ladies Netball Club, before we made Ambleside our home in 2003. Nearly 60 years of netball, friendships, laughter and a little healthy competition later, we’re still going strong! Today, we’re a thriving, inclusive club with around 120 senior and junior members, seven senior teams and a fantastic junior section for girls aged 10–16. From competitive league netball to keeping fit, having fun and making lifelong friends, we’re proud to offer something for everyone.
Whether you’re a seasoned netball superstar, dusting off your trainers after a few years, or picking up a netball for the very first time – there’s a place for you at Ambleside Senior Netball! We love Spectators too
We’re delighted that our newly refurbished courts mean we can now play all our home matches at Ambleside! And we’re not stopping there! We’re busy fundraising to install floodlights on our third court, allowing even more netball throughout the week and creating opportunities for the wider community to enjoy our facilities. At Ambleside, we’re just as passionate about the social side as we are about what happens on court! From fundraising events and club celebrations to plenty of laughter in the Players’ Lounge, there’s always something happening. Fancy a game of sticky bingo on a Saturday? Come and join us!
We don’t just build teams – we build friendships, confidence and a real sense of belonging.
Senior Training (ages 16+)
• Tuesdays: 7.30pm–9.00pm
• League matches: Saturdays
Junior Training (ages 10–16) – CURRENTLY AT CAPACITY, Join the waiting list for next season
• Tuesdays: 6.30pm–7.30pm
• Sundays: 9.30am–11.30am, Games Sunday afternoons
